The early diorama of the Petaling Jaya morning market is located in Section 1 of the ‘Old Town’ Petaling Jaya. This market existed around the early 50s before the Morning Market on Jalan Othman and the Morning Market in New Town (the site area of the current MBPJ tower). This is the earliest morning market selling a variety of daily necessities. Traders trade openly, in groups and unorganized. At that time, traders used abacus and scales (kati & pikul) as a measuring and counting material in trading transactions. The market is open as early as 6.00 am to 10.00 am.
